My name is John Stanley. I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) for College of Lake County (CLC) in northern Illinois.

I currently teach intermediate ESL, as well as an ESL computer class.

My classes are located at Wauconda High School and Wauconda Area Library in Wauconda, IL, and at the main campus of CLC in Grayslake.

I have been teaching at CLC since 2012 and I’ve been teaching ESL since 2011. I have also taught for Mundelein High School Adult Education. Before teaching adults, I was an elementary school teacher for six years (grades K–3).

I have a bachelor’s degree in English from George Mason University, a master’s degree in Education from George Mason University, and a Certificate of Graduate Study in Bilingual and ESL Teaching from Northern Illinois University.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my wife, Pamela, and my two children, Keira and Johnny. I also love vegetable gardening, reading, yoga, exercising, and playing guitar.

We have three backyard chickens who entertain us and give us fresh eggs.
